No more killings. The elephants and rhinos were at peace again.

Obviously, strong male and female presence’s are needed in these elephants lives. The young elephants needed the adults from when they were defenseless babies through the time they were in their elephant ‘teenage’ years.

In the meantime, over in the United States of America there was another gang related murder in your city. Another fatherless, semi or fully orphaned teenager shot a man and then reported back to his or her gang of ‘delinquent juveniles’.

Perhaps we should take a lesson from the elephants.

SHE used to be Ginger Spice. But Geri Halliwell does a pretty good impression of Scary – after spotting her boyfriend eyeing up a passing beauty.

So no surprise Geri, 37, blew her top as they strolled on a St Tropez beach.

The rogue, 31, claimed he had mistaken the brunette for a pal but the star told him where to go. Henry, son of a property mogul, has previous

0 Comments | Dominion Post; Wellington, New Zealand, Jul 17, 2010

INTERNATIONAL businessman Peter Chrisp has been appointed as the new chief executive of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, replacing Tim Gibson who left more than six months ago.

Mr Chrisp is based in Sydney as regional president, Australia, for multinational company Norske Skog and will move to Wellington to take up the role of NZTE chief executive on August 23.

Economic Development Minister Gerry Brownlee defended the delay in appointing Mr Gibson’s replacement to lead NZTE, which helps firms with exporting.

“It was important for us to take the time to appoint the right person for the job, and that meant an international search,” Mr Brownlee said

The places that are badly affected by this dangererous disease are the Cappadocian region of Turkey because there are many construction workers living in this area. Many people in the United States have also contracted this disease.

Even genetics play a role. Because, some of the people who have been in contact with asbestos for years have not contracted this disease. The genetic factors have helped them to resist this disease.

Stay away from asbestos mines and do not use asbestos related products if you want to be safe.

It’s the same old idea, but aging makeup makes it look like new.(Garfield’s AdReview)(Lincoln Financial Group)

Advertising Age, October, 2007 by Garfield, Bob

Byline: Bob Garfield

Watched “The Good Shepherd” the other night. Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie. About the early days of the CIA. The most remarkable thing about the movie, apart from how spectacularly it was miscast, was the makeup.

The characters of baby-faced Damon and human Bratz doll Jolie were depicted as their 1940 selves and as their 1961 selves. As if. The aging was about as convincing as baby-powder gray hair on a 13-year-old playing Henry Higgins in a middle-school production of “My Fair Lady.” They were trying to make Angelina Jolie look matronly. Employers clamping down on visits to the dentist during work time; A dentist’s appointment was once the excuse of choice for people hoping to take a few hours off work. But it is becoming increasingly difficult to get time off work for bona fide appointments, as Alison Lowe explains

0 Comments | Western Mail (Cardiff, Wales), July 26, 2010

I’M SURE, at one time or another, we’ve all used the excuse of having to visit the dentist when we’ve wanted to get out of work early.

But it seems that these days it’s not so easy to get away with it, even if it is a genuine appointment.

According to the UK 2010 Simplyhealth dental survey, companies are much less flexible when it comes to allowing dental visits during working hours.

One-in-10 employers now discourage workers from taking time off for dental appointments and only 37% believe it is up to the individual to choose when they visit the dentist.

Indeed, the number of companies taking this approach has doubled over the last year and it seems that it is a reflection of the pressure companies are under to keep their employees in work during the recession.

More worrying is the fact that many of those questioned by the survey couldn’t visit a dentist even if they could get the time off work.

Access and affordability remain key issues in Wales – the dire lack of NHS dentists has frequently been highlighted in recent years, most noticeably last month when almost 4,000 patients in Ceredigion were left without an NHS dentist when their practice closed.

The survey also found that 10% of workers in Cardiff have struggled and eventually given up on their quest to find an NHS dentist, which suggests a shortage of dentists in the capital.

It is reassuring to know the majority of employers believe it is their responsibility to look after the oral health of their workforce and the fact that their staff may not be able to afford to visit the dentist is of increasing concern.

Since dental care seems to be so important to employers, you would think they would be more flexible about allowing dental visits during working hours.

But the answer is a resounding no and bosses are becoming much stricter when it comes to monitoring this.

Nonetheless, oral health is seen as an important element of wellbeing strategies and with this in mind many companies now offer dental benefits.

This appears to be a win-win situation for all concerned, as it not only gives employees the option of visiting a private dentist outside of working hours, but employers have found that it boosts morale, aids staff retention and helps to reduce the amount of sick leave taken.

But what about the workers who don’t have access to Denplan or a similar dental scheme? There’s no doubt that visiting the dentist can be expensive and the rising costs mean that some people are being forced to neglect their teeth.

Indeed, 43% have put off visiting the dentist due to worries about the cost implications.

Many people have also called NHS Direct or gone to A&E with toothache or dental pain instead of, or before, seeing a dentist.

Of course, those who put off visiting the dentist often pay the price with their oral health – 35% of those questioned have suffered from long-term tooth decay or periodontal disease, which often results in abscesses, and the need for extractions and for some extended dental procedures.

Of more concern is that onein-five respondents had suffered at least one of the possible signs of mouth cancer.

This is one of the fastestgrowing cancers in the UK – cases have increased by 41% over the last decade.

Around 75% of mouth cancers are caused by tobacco and alcohol, yet this survey suggests that many people are still unaware of the risks of indulging in these vices.

Regular visits to the dentist are essential in detecting the signs, as survival rates are boosted by 90% with early detection.

So, how do we stand when it comes to taking time off work for dental appointments? Well, contrary to popular belief, there is no law that says your employer has to give you time off, but most do because they want to look after their staff.

However, they’re not obliged to pay you for it.

How much time you’re allowed is specific to your employer’s policies and depends on whether you are paid by the hour or salaried. You may find that you have to take the time as part of your annual or sick leave.

Whatever you do, don’t neglect your teeth – regular appointments with the dentist are a vital part of maintaining not only your oral health, but also your general health.

Alison Lowe is a dental hygienist based in Cardiff TIPS TO BRING A SMILE…

There is no doubt the debt crisis in Britain has made it more difficult to look after our teeth but here are some tips that may make it easier: If you need dental treatment but you’re worried about taking time off, have a chat with your boss or human resources department about the companies policies on missing work; If you’re struggling to find an NHS dentist then contact your local health board which will have a list of NHS dentists in your area. Alternatively, ask your friends and colleagues as they will often be able to recommend a good dentist locally; Ask your dental practice if they offer evening, early morning or Saturday appointments – you’ll find that many do (after all even the dental profession isn’t recession proof); I know it is easier said than done but try not to let cost stop you from seeking dental care, there are a number of ways of spreading the cost and minimising the financial pain of visiting the dentist; If you need to cancel your dental appointment due to work commitments make sure you give plenty of notice otherwise you may be charged.

This canister vacuum boasts some of the most energy-saving advancements the industry has to offer.

Featuring an AutoEco setting that automatically detects the type of surface, the Miele Earth vacuum adjusts power for optimal cleaning performance and energy efficiency. Contrary to popular belief, the highest power setting is not best for all cleaning. Using AutoEco will not only save tremendously in energy consumption, but will also provide better performance and long term care for home furnishings. Miele Earth’s green features also include a 20 year life design, the use of virgin polymers that are marked for easy recycling, cadmium and lead-free coatings, and water-based paints.

Miele is internationally recognized as a leader in engineering appliances that are environmentally friendly. “We consider a commitment to the environment a top priority for businesses,” says Vacuums Unlimited CEO Bill Anand. “We recommend Miele vacuum cleaners to our customers because they are well-built, meet strict environmental requirements, and last longer than any other product we have seen in our 30 years in the business.”

In celebration of Earth Day, Vacuums Unlimited is offering a special program at its retail locations — customers can trade in their old vacuums to get a discount on a new Miele Earth vacuum. “We don’t want old vacuums ending up in landfills, so we are offering this special promotion to inspire homeowners to purchase a more earth-friendly product,” says Anand. Usable vacuums will be refurbished and donated to those in need, while unusable machines will be dismantled for proper recycling.

It is an interesting exercise for one who creates ads to watch other ads. It is clear to see the motivation behind what causes some people to build ads the way they do. There are clearly three angles that could and should be considered as components of an ad. Most have one, some have two, the best have all three.

1) The most common denominator is the element of cleaver. These are the ads that usually have funny as the main ingredient. It is easy to see how the ad agency sold the client on funny, it’s supposed to generate the warm fuzzies and even be remembered as well as be looked forward to the next time they run the ad. Agencies win awards for funny ads, even if they don’t sell product or enhance the companies image. Shows you where the priority is at ad agencies.

2) The second kind of ad is one that is memorable. This is supposed to make you remember the product. This is primarily for commodities: “me too” products and services that are always being bought.

So before you look at how to improve reading skills, consider why you should undertake the challenge.

To put the challenge into perspective consider a motivational story based on a 2000 year old proverb. It was about two men wanting to see who the best lumber jack in the world was. So they held a contest to determine just that.

The contest rules were simple. They were to start cutting at first glimpse of sunrise and stop at the last shimmer of sun set. No help, just man against man.

At the end of the day one man was a clear winner. The loser just couldn?t understand why he lost. He noted how the winner stopped to take breaks and refresh himself whereas he worked nonstop.

Common examples are: bank accounts, credit cards, fixed & mobile telecommunication services. These services are offered in highly competitive markets, characterised by high customer switching (attrition or churn) rates, which erode the profitability of those who suffer it.

The selection of suitable measurements for recency is not obvious, in the case of continuity services. A bank account or a telephone subscription is potentially used every day, therefore ?last time used? cannot normally be the basis for a recency measurement. The fact that the service is used, does not reflect an active choice of the Customer to interact with the Business. Therefore one should try to identify those events which reflect ?an active choice of the Customer to interact with the Business?. Moreover, these events should be divided into events reflecting a positive attitude of the Customer towards the business and a predisposition to strengthen the relationship with the Business (e.g.
